Background: Augmented reality (AR) technology unites virtual elements with the real environment to enhance user experience and interactivity. Almost emerging in the field of dentistry, AR is still little known and less understood by dental professionals in India. The present study aims to evaluate the level of knowledge, attitude, and future perception of AR among dental professionals in India. Methodology: This was a cross-sectional, questionnaire-based survey carried out in English among dental professionals all over India. Fifteen questions had been chosen after a pilot study of 20 randomly selected instructors to ascertain readability and content validity. The sample size was then calculated using G*Power version 3.1.9.4 (developed by Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, Düsseldorf, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany). Once received, the data obtained were compiled, analyzed, and interpreted statistically, applying independent t -tests and one-way ANOVA. Results: Two hundred respondents completed the survey. Of the 200 participants, 33.5% had adequate knowledge, while 58% had a favorable attitude, and 67.5% had a favorable perception concerning the future of AR in dentistry. By subgroup, practicing dentists showed the highest levels of knowledge, whereas postgraduate students recorded more positive attitudes and perceptions. Conclusion: The immersive quality of AR presents significant potential benefits for both patients and dental professionals. Greater integration of AR into dental practice may be achieved through curriculum inclusion and professional workshops, facilitating wider adoption of this innovative technology.
