On the Ethnography of Candoshi and Shapra. In this article we intend to assess the ethnographic studies published concerning the Shapra and Candoshi societies in the Peruvian Amazon. After situating the groups in geographic and sociocultural terms, we will examine the issues that previous publications have presented regarding the relations between the two groups and the relations that they maintain with other Jivaro groups.
