Why the study?
Whether cavotricuspid isthmus ablation can be performed using pulsed-field ablation catheters with different designs, such as the PulseSelect circular catheter, has never been reported.
Can the cavotricuspid isthmus be effectively ablated using a circular pulsed-field ablation catheter (PulseSelect) in patients undergoing atrial fibrillation ablation?
Can the cavotricuspid isthmus be effectively ablated using a circular pulsed-field ablation catheter (PulseSelect) in patients undergoing atrial fibrillation ablation?
This text introduces the novel application of a circular pulsed-field ablation catheter (PulseSelect) for cavotricuspid isthmus ablation, which had not been previously reported.
CTI ablation with alternative PFA catheter designs appears feasible; leaves open questions on efficacy, safety, and routine adoption.
Pulsed-field ablation (PFA) has demonstrated its effectiveness and safety for pulmonary vein isolation in atrial fibrillation (AF),1 and it is reasonable to ablate the cavotricuspid isthmus (CTI) in patients undergoing AF ablation in case of prior history or intraprocedural induction of CTI-dependent flutter.2 Few studies have reported CTI ablation using the Farawave multispline-electrode PFA catheter (Farapulse Inc),3,4 but whether CTI could be ablated with PFA catheters with different design, such as the PulseSelect circular PFA catheter (Medtronic Inc), has never been reported.
