The ratio of the specific rate constant for H2 to that for HT in the photo-chemical reaction with chlorine has been determined at four temperatures and is represented by R=(1.35±0.03) exp{(552±7)/RT} to within about 0.3 percent. The ratio is found to be the same when the reaction is initiated by the tritium β-particles. The data are considered from the viewpoint of the theory of absolute reaction rates.
