The Buongiorno model is used to investigate the effects of Brownian motion and thermophoresis on the flow, heat, and mass transfer from a flat plate with prescribed surface heat flux. The experimental correlations for the effective density, thermal conductivity, and viscosity of nanofluid are incorporated in the governing equations. Governing partial differential equations are transformed into a set of ordinary differential equations by using similarity transformations. These equations are solved numerically using the Runge–Kutta–Fehlberg method, which produces a fifth-order-accurate solution. The results for the dimensionless velocity, temperature, wall shear stress, and Nusselt and Sherwood numbers are presented graphically and compared for water-based nanofluids with ethylene-glycol-based nanofluids.
