Delhi ranks among the most polluted cities in the world, with air quality severely impacted by vehicular and industrial emissions. This review critically examines air pollution trends in Delhi from 2004 to 2024, emphasizing public participation and policy interventions. Using secondary data, the study highlights that over 70% of emissions stem from urban sources. Temporary improvements during COVID-19 lockdowns underscore the potential of strict controls. While policies like NCAP show partial success, long-term improvements require public engagement, behavioral change, and stronger enforcement. The findings inform sustainable strategies to reduce pollution and improve public health outcomes in rapidly growing urban areas.
