Manual tracing of echocardiographic images provides quantitative data essential for identifying and classifying subtypes of left ventricular dysfunction.
A cross sectional echocardiographic image of the left ventricle is a trove of quantitative information that, in part, is extracted by manu- ally tracing the borders of its walls and cavi- ties. Investing the time required to learn and implement such quantification requires a con- viction that extracting these data will generate information that allows confident identifica- tion and classification of the clinically relevant subtypes of left ventricular dysfunction.
