Trauma-informed care practices are being applied to courses across curriculums in higher education as a teaching methodology to reduce retraumatizing our students. As dance educators, we can apply trauma-informed care principles to what we are already doing in the classroom to improve our scope of practice, thereby ensuring that all who enter our classrooms have access to learning and skill development. Using principles from the Feldenkrais Method of somatic training, this article describes how dance educators can implement these practices effectively in their teaching methodology.
