By contrast, there is a striking paucity of published information on the efficacy of steroids in the treatment of the nephrotic syndrome associated with amyloidosis. Furthermore, with more widespread use of percutaneous renal biopsy in the diagnostic workup of nephrotic syndrome of unknown etiology, it has become apparent that amyloidosis is not a rare cause of the nephrotic syndrome in the adult (2, 6-8). In human and in experimental amyloidosis, there is...References1. ADAMSMAXWELLBERNSTEIN DAMHD: Corticosteroid therapy of glomerulonephritis and the nephrotic syndrome: a review: J. Chron.
