Thin film on titanium is electrodeposited by reduction of an aqueous solution containing the selenosulfite anion and a nitrilotriacetate complex of cadmium ion. Films having thickness between 1.3 and 2.6 μm and surface areas of 1 cm 2 give photoconversion efficiencies between 5.5% and 5.9% when used in a photoelectrochemical cell and illuminated with an ELH lamp.
