Pyramidal neurons in the prelimbic cortex showed significant reductions in dendritic length and branching following 6 hours of isolation stress compared to controls (p < 0.05).
Significant dendritic remodeling and reduced branch complexity were similarly confirmed in both cingulate cortex area 1 and area 2 (p < 0.05).
