In resonant reactions of electrons with molecules, vibronic transitions may occur which influence the angular distribution of the scattered electrons. General expressions have been obtained for these angular distributions, and these have been applied to some recent measurements on CO 2 , in which the angular distributions have been seen to depend on the vibronic symmetry of the final molecular state.
