Digital transformation has reshaped leadership by expanding remote and hybrid work environments. As organizations increasingly rely on technology-mediated communication, leaders face new challenges related to communication, trust, employee engagement, performance management, technostress, and work–life balance. This conceptual study reviews the literature on digital leadership and identifies the major challenges affecting leadership effectiveness in digital workplaces. It also discusses emerging topics, including artificial intelligence, hybrid leadership, digital ethics, and algorithmic management. The study integrates existing research into a comprehensive conceptual framework explaining how digital leadership capabilities influence employee and organizational outcomes. The findings highlight that effective digital leadership requires both technological competence and human-centered leadership practices to support organizational performance and employee well-being in increasingly digital work environments.
