Suggests 3-D mapping and periprocedural DOACs may mitigate.
What are the incidence and predictors of critical pericardial effusion as an early complication of catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation?
In a large Japanese registry, critical pericardial effusion occurred in 1% of AF ablations, and the use of 3-D imaging systems and periprocedural DOACs were independently associated with a lower risk of this complication.
