Why the study?
Traditional radiation therapy faces technical difficulties in accurately delineating cardiac metastases and tracking cardiac- and respiration-related tumor motion, hindering safe and effective dose delivery.

Single-dose IV-contrast enhanced 4D-CT may facilitate accurate delineation and tracking of cardiac metastases for radiation therapy.
Cardiac metastasis (CM) is the most common malignancy in the heart1 and is usually associated with widespread metastases requiring systemic therapy (ST). Despite ST, uncontrolled CM can cause dyspnea, chest pain, or even fatal cardiac outflow obstruction.2 Surgical resection of CM for such cardiopulmonary symptom palliation is rarely considered due to the risks from invasive procedures. Traditional radiation therapy (RT) has technical difficulties in accurately delineating CM and tracking cardiac palpitation and respiration (CPR)-related CM motions, which hinders delivering a safe and effective radiation dose to CM.
