Population
4,864 patients who underwent primary bariatric surgery (sleeve gastrectomy [n=965] or Roux-en-Y gastric bypass [n=3,899]) in five Dutch hospitals. Inclusion criteria: BMI ≥40.0 kg/m2 or BMI ≥35.0 kg/m2 with one or more obesity-associated comorbidities. Mean age 39.3 (SG) and 45.6 (RYGB), 77.2% female (SG) and 80.8% female (RYGB).
