Methodological framework demonstrates multilayered lyrical coherence in bilingual songwriting, highlighting structured continuity across independent languages.
The Mirror Song is a developing framework for bilingual English–Chinese songwriting in which the two languages alternate line by line without functioning as direct translations. Each language forms an independent lyrical path, while their interweaving creates an additional continuous layer of meaning. Version 3 develops the framework through Dual Continuity, Interwoven Continuity, Translation-Invariant Continuity, the Five-Path Test, and Musical Continuity. It also records the practical musical realization of these principles in the bilingual song “风中的笑靥/A Smile Upon the Wind.” This deposit documents a dated stage in the development of the Mirror Song framework. It does not claim priority for bilingual writing, code-switching, independent bilingual texts, or the general concept of a “third text.” Its proposed contribution lies in the integration of these continuity principles and evaluative methods within a songwriting framework.
