The marketing of tourism places involves coming to terms with the character and intrinsic qualities of place-products. This article poses the questions: What is the tourism place-product? Who produces it? Who consumes it? What is the nature of the market? How is it marketed? The answers are applies to the case of the city of Groningen, The Netherlands.
