Numerical modeling of laser produced plasmas: the dynamics and neutron production in dense spherically symmetric plasmas

A series of numerical experiments have been conducted to investigate the dynamics and neutron production in laser irradiated, dense spherically symmetric plasmas. The results have led to the development of scalings for energy absorption, shock strength and optimum neutron production for sub-nanosecond, high energy pulses.
