23 human heart failure (HF) patients and 23 healthy subjects; ICR male mice (22-24 g) with myocardial ischemia (MI)-induced HF via left anterior descending coronary artery ligation; Rat H9c2 cardiomyocytes subjected to oxygen glucose deprivation (OGD) injury.

Intervention

Fat-specific adeno-associated virus carrying human omentin1 (AAV-omentin1, 2E*10^11 vg/mice, i.v.) in mice; recombinant human omentin1 protein (300 ng/mL) in cardiomyocytes.

Comparator

AAV-NC (negative control) in mice; healthy subjects in humans; vehicle/no treatment in OGD-injured cardiomyocytes.

Outcome

Cardiac function (LVEF, LVFS, SV), cardiac hypertrophy, infarct size, and mitochondrial dynamical homeostasis/mitophagy markers.surrogate
