In the giant mixed-metal silver(I)-ethynide cluster compound [Bz(Et)(3)N(+)](8)[(Et)(4)N(+)](2)[(V(2)O(7))(2)@Ag(44)(C≡C(t)Bu)(14)@(V(32)O(96))], the cyclic polyoxovanadate {V(32)O(96)} located at a 4 site takes a contorted configuration to wrap around an inner Ag(44) cluster that in turn encapsulates a pair of pyrovanadate templates.
