Embolic complications occurred in 20.27% of patients (15/74; 9 cerebral, 4 pulmonary, 2 peripheral) and arose more frequently from right atrial myxomas measuring >5 cm.
Prompt surgical resection on diagnosis yielded a 0% intraoperative mortality rate and 0% tumor recurrence over follow-up.
