Electrometric titrations have been carried out in molten salt media. An equimolar KNO3 + NaNO3 melt was used as solvent, and the following systems were investigated: AgCl, AgBr, AgI, AgCN, Ag(CN)-2 and Ag2CrO4. The effect of temperature on the solubility was also studied and heats, free energies and entropies of solution in the melt solvent have been calculated. The process of solution in an ionic melt solvent is discussed. It is suggested that the simple Born theory of solvation is more applicable to a solution in a melt than in an aqueous medium.
