The COMPASS Collaboration recently reported the observation of strange-meson spectra in the reaction <a:math xmlns:a="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"> <a:msup> <a:mi>K</a:mi> <a:mo>−</a:mo> </a:msup> <a:mo>+</a:mo> <a:mi>p</a:mi> <a:mo stretchy="false">→</a:mo> <a:msup> <a:mi>K</a:mi> <a:mo>−</a:mo> </a:msup> <a:msup> <a:mi>π</a:mi> <a:mo>−</a:mo> </a:msup> <a:msup> <a:mi>π</a:mi> <a:mo>+</a:mo> </a:msup> <a:mo>+</a:mo> <a:mi>p</a:mi> </a:math> and found <d:math xmlns:d="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"> <d:msub> <d:mi>K</d:mi> <d:mn>3</d:mn> </d:msub> </d:math> and <f:math xmlns:f="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"> <f:msub> <f:mi>K</f:mi> <f:mn>4</f:mn> </f:msub> </f:math> states, with masses of <h:math xmlns:h="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"> <h:mn>2119</h:mn> <h:mo>±</h:mo> <h:mn>1</h:mn> <h:msubsup> <h:mn>3</h:mn> <h:mrow> <h:mo>−</h:mo> <h:mn>12</h:mn> </h:mrow> <h:mrow> <h:mo>+</h:mo> <h:mn>45</h:mn> </h:mrow> </h:msubsup> <h:mtext> </h:mtext> <h:mtext> </h:mtext> <h:mi>MeV</h:mi> </h:math> and <j:math xmlns:j="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"> <j:mn>2210</j:mn> <j:mo>±</j:mo> <j:mn>4</j:mn> <j:msubsup> <j:mn>0</j:mn> <j:mrow> <j:mo>−</j:mo> <j:mn>30</j:mn> </j:mrow> <j:mrow> <j:mo>+</j:mo> <j:mn>80</j:mn> </j:mrow> </j:msubsup> <j:mtext> </j:mtext> <j:mtext> </j:mtext> <j:mi>MeV</j:mi> </j:math> , respectively. This discovery has significantly renewed interest, prompting a detailed and systematic study of high-spin kaons. In this work, we analyze the mass spectrum and the Okubo-Zweig-Iizuka-allowed two-body strong decay properties of high-spin kaons having <l:math xmlns:l="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"> <l:msup> <l:mi>J</l:mi> <l:mi>P</l:mi> </l:msup> <l:mo>=</l:mo> <l:msup> <l:mn>3</l:mn> <l:mo>±</l:mo> </l:msup> <l:mo>,</l:mo> <l:msup> <l:mn>4</l:mn> <l:mo>±</l:mo> </l:msup> </l:math> , and <n:math xmlns:n="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"> <n:msup> <n:mn>5</n:mn> <n:mo>±</n:mo> </n:msup> </n:math> within the framework of the modified Godfrey-Isgur model and the <p:math xmlns:p="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"> <p:mrow> <p:mmultiscripts> <p:mrow> <p:msub> <p:mrow> <p:mi>P</p:mi> </p:mrow> <p:mrow> <p:mn>0</p:mn> </p:mrow> </p:msub> </p:mrow> <p:mprescripts/> <p:none/> <p:mrow> <p:mn>3</p:mn> </p:mrow> </p:mmultiscripts> </p:mrow> </p:math> model. Moreover, we identify critical decay channels, which may serve as useful guidance for future experimental studies.
