Mitochondrial density per myocardiocyte was significantly preserved in enalapril-treated mice compared to controls (Group A: 85 ± 7, Group B: 85 ± 6, Group C: 83 ± 8 vs. Group D: 58 ± 8; P < .01 for all treated groups vs. D).
Arterial tunica media wall-to-lumen ratios were significantly lower across multiple vascular beds in enalapril-treated mice compared to controls, including the aorta (0.13 ± 0.02, 0.11 ± 0.02, 0.12 ± 0.01 vs. 2.81 ± 0.35; P < .001).
