Exchange symmetry is used to eliminate reference to physically indistinguishable channels in the coupled-equations nuclear-reaction formalism. The resulting equations are similar in structure to the original ones except that they are far fewer in number and the interactions contain exchange operators.NUCLEAR REACTIONS Coupled-equations nuclear-reaction formalism of Kouri, Levin, Hahn, and Tobocman is explicitly antisymmetrized.
