The authors report on the numerical analysis of the relaxation towards equilibrium in one dimension of a 'large' system of hard core particles having masses either m 1 or m 2 and velocities +or-1 given at random; a very broad range of values of m 1 /m 2 is investigated for the first time. Several quantities such as velocity autocorrelations, diffusion coefficients, relaxation and correlation times are monitored, some times until the system reached equilibrium. They conclude about new interesting qualitative and quantitative changes in the system relaxation as one considers different values for m 2 /m 1 .
