For the L (low confinement) and H (high confinement) regimes of axisymmetric divertor plasmas, empirical scaling relations for the cross-field electron heat diffusivity χ e , the diffusion coefficient D and the inward drift velocity v in are presented. The observed variation of the energy confinement time with plasma current and injection power is explained by the χ e dependence on local quantities.
