A new homochiral tripodal ligand tris(N-(S)-(−)-(α-methylbenzyl)carbamoylmethyl)amine (H31S-mbz) is reported, along with the preparation and structural characterization of two metal complexes K[Zn1S-mbz] and K[Fe1S-mbz(NO)]. Significant changes in cavity structure are observed upon binding external ligands.
