The coherent control of a charge-density-wave (CDW) collective mode in 1 T -TaS 2 was performed using a femtosecond pulse pair. Selective enhancement and suppression of the oscillation were achieved by optimal pulse separation. The ratio of enhancement to suppression and pulse-separation dependence of the amplitude show a good correspondence with theoretical evaluation in the pulse-separation time range -0.5 to 1 ps.
