Why the study?
Many elderly patients with heart disease experience declined activities of daily living after hospitalization or surgery, making participation in conventional group exercise-based cardiac rehabilitation difficult, while convalescent rehabilitation remains limited to select certified facilities.
Comprehensive cardiac rehabilitation in convalescent wards is expected to improve physical function and QOL in elderly heart disease patients, highlighting the need for wider implementation.
