At the Emory University Student Health Service in Atlanta, we have seen a similar increase in the laboratory diagnosis of campylobacter enteritis after the introduction of appropriate culture methods in 1980.In the 9-month academic year 1982 to 1983 our Health Services, which served 7765 enrolled students, found 47 stool cultures positive forCampylobacter jejuniamong the 88 specimens submitted.
