Even though it is still in the developmental stage, a two‐parameter kinetic model of trihalomethane formation can be useful for predicting THM formation in the distribution system following postchlorination, providing an analytical method for estimating the allowable effluent TOC levels that must be achieved to ensure compliance with the 100‐μg/L THM standard.
