A new class of band‐pass frequency selective surface (FSS) with nonresonant constituting elements and sub‐wavelength unit‐cell dimensions and periodicities is presented and experimentally demonstrated. Using this technique, low profile first‐ and second‐order FSSs with reduced sensitivity to the angle of incidence for both TE and TM polarizations are designed, a prototype is fabricated and the FSS measurement results are presented and discussed.
