An acid-soluble spore protein (ASSP) has been isolated from Clostridium perfringens spores. The protein contains 56 amino acids, and 14 of them are homologous to all the other ASSP known. Fourteen other amino acids are also homologous with amino acids from some of the ASSP from Bacillus or Thermoactinomyces.
