We consider here the effect of temporal correlations on the transmission of spike trains in an integrate-and-fire neuron. We find that if the noisy input spike train is variable enough, the signal-to-noise ratio can display more than one peak as a function of the noise strength. This result is analyzed in terms of a simple probabilistic description of the problem.
