The paper presents data on the birefringence and the tensile, bending, and shear moduli of Terylene, nylon 6.6, polypropylene, and viscose monofilaments that were drawn to different extents. All the filaments were tested in the standard atmosphere and the viscose filaments were also tested in the wet state. A comparison is also made of the mechanical properties of viscose monofilaments that were prepared by different processes.
