The NMR technique was employed to study the magnetic behavior of Co in psudo-binary Laves phase compounds, Y(Fe 1- x Co x ) 2 and Zr(Fe 1- x Co x ) 2 over the whole concentration range of x . The change of spin echo spectra in Fe rich side with increasing Co shows that the Co moment decreases slightly in x ≤0.3 and then decreases rapidly in Y(Fe, Co) 2 , while decreases rapidly in Zr(Fe, Co) 2 from the start. In critical concentration for destruction of ferromagnetism the coexistence of magnetic and nonmagnetic Co was shown by 59 Co NMR observations both in zero and in external field. The Co moment is probably induced by magnetic Fe in its near neighbors.
