The dipole moments of terms of three series of α,ω‐disubstituted alkanes have been determined in the liquid phase using several methods of calculation. The measurements included the dibromoalkanes, the glycols and the ethyl esters of the dicarboxylic acids. From the resulting moments of the dibromides it is obvious an alternating effect exists for the first members of this series with regard to the influence of temperature. In the other series no definite temperature effect is shown by the different terms, with the exception of the oxalic esters.
