The work of Stewart and Wilkinson in 1960 on the photo-ionization of helium using six-parameter Hylleraas ground state and Hartree-Fock continuum wave functions has been entended to higher energies. Agreement to within 10% is obtained with the recent measurements of Baker, Bedo and Tomboulian over the spectral range 504-180 Å. Results for Li+ based on the same approximations are also presented.
