SUMMARY The inhibition of growth of Lemna gibba fronds by abscisic acid is accompanied by typical changes in mineral composition such that the ratios of phosphorus to iron and potassium to calcium are lowered compared with normal growing fronds. Benzyl adenine added with abscisic acid tends to reduce these changes and re‐establish growth causing the above ratios to be increased.
