What factors influence medication adherence among patients with hypertension?
What factors influence medication adherence among patients with hypertension?
Identifying factors that influence medication adherence in hypertensive patients can help healthcare providers implement better disease control programs and health-promoting strategies.
Enables targeted adherence interventions in hypertension care; extends evidence base for optimized disease control programs.
Dear Sir, May I register this manuscript entitled "Factors influencing medication adherence among patients with hypertension: a systematic review" in OSF and? This manuscript was already published in the journal of Systematic Reviews in Pharmacy (Sys Rev Pharm.). Medication adherence is the essential healthy behavior for getting treatment success in patients with hypertension and it can reduce long-term cardiovascular risks, mortality from certain cardiovascular diseases, and the risk of hospitalization. Additionally, this behavior is changing over time especially in chronic diseases and asymptomatic nature like hypertension. Therefore, we identify the factors influencing the medication adherence of patients with hypertension in this review. Besides, healthcare providers, especially physicians, nurses, and pharmacists, can implement hypertension disease control programs and health-promoting strategies based on these influencing factors and encouraging healthy medication-taking behaviors, and engaging patients in medication adherence improving interventions.
