The problem of the multiple scattering of a plane acoustic wave by a quasi-homogeneous spherically stratified medium of compact support and a bounded obstacle is considered. It is shown that this problem can be reformulated as a singular integral equation over the boundary of the scattering obstacle alone. The integral equation can be regularized and inverted in the space of continuous functions defined over the boundary of the scattering obstacle.
