The transient response of the radiation field of dipole and vee configured cylindrical antennas with non-reflecting resistive loading is investigated. The radiation field for a d.c. applied pulse is shown graphically as a function of time for different angles between the antenna axis and the position vector to the observation point and for vee angles of 90, 130 and 180 degrees. The antennas are shown to possess excellent transient characteristics free from the multiple reflections normally associated with finite length antennas.
