The electrostatic discharge (ESD) phenomena is one cause of degradation for resin/fiber material structures. Many numerical models have been proposed to study this kind of materials, but they always consider constant electrical parameters. This paper addresses the problem of the transient skin effects in the conductive fibers buried in a resin body in presence of an imperfect ground. It is shown here that, if the composite material is affected by ESD phenomena, the transient skin effects play an important role in the prediction of voltages induced inside the composite material enclosure. An equivalent electric circuit has been developed to simulate the system and its behavior has been successfully verified using SPICE.
