Clinical trial demonstrates reduced immature platelet fraction with efgartigimod IV in primary immune thrombocytopenia, indicating decreased antibody-mediated platelet degradation.
Elevated percentage of immature platelets is indicative of consumptive thrombocytopenic disorders. In immune thrombocytopenia, low platelet counts may result from reduced production or increased degradation, both driven by IgG autoantibodies. By blocking FcRn, efgartigimod decreases immature platelet fraction, likely by reducing platelet degradation through decreased IgG autoantibody levels.
