A microstrip ring resonator (MRR) is perturbed by overlaying mug grains (Phaseolus Radiatus Linn.), having different moisture contents (7–42%), at eight different angles. Out of the two orthogonal degenerate modes (even and odd) of MRR, only the even mode is sensitive to the strength of perturbation (grain moisture). The overlay angle and moisture‐dependent perturbation factor is reported. The results are compared with the reported perturbation results of Yogi et al. [16].
