Terylene polyester staple fibre is being used in staple-fibre form in blends with both natural and other synthetic fibres to produce an increasing number and variety of woven and knitted fabrics for apparel wear. This paper describes the properties of yarns and fabrics made from such blends. A description is also given of the quality control tests conducted on the fabrics and gives details of three of the more important fabric tests. Some aspects of new technical developments of fibres and fabrics are also described.
