Deep-Inelastice−pAsymmetry Measurements and Comparison with the Bjorken Sum Rule and Models of Proton Spin Structure

We report new measurements of the asymmetry in the deep-inelastic scattering of longitudinally polarized electrons by longitudinally polarized protons in the kinematic range 2<~ω<~10, 1<~Q²<~4 (GeV/c)², and $2<~W<~4$ GeV. We compare our results with the Bjorken sum rule and with several theoretical models of the internal spin structure of the proton.
