Strains of Aspergillus flavus were recovered from corn samples from 15 counties in Georgia and placed into 22 different heterokaryon-compatibility (h-c) groups. There was no clear pattern of association between h-c group and aflatoxin or Sclerotium production. Strains within the same h-c group were not restricted to the same geographical area.
